Hi! I’m Francesca — I’m so happy to meet you.

I’ve spent the last 20 years engaging in self-study, healing, and learning ways to thrive, stay balanced, and sane in an ever changing world.

My yoga studies have taken me to India where I’ve studied Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda, and Philosophy and through Grauduate School at Loyola Marymount University where I completed my Master of Arts in Yoga Studies and completed four years of Clinical Yoga Therapy studies. I lived in India for a year of my life and co-founded a 501c3 non-profit which gives back to the place from which Yoga originated.

The breadth of my yoga therapy training includes a practicum, clinical supervision, and training on how to create comprehensive yoga therapy plans. We can work alone or in collaboration with other professionals you work with.

    -An in depth and holistic treatment plan based on the Pañcamayakośa model (what I wrote my graduate thesis on)

    -A 60-75 minute follow up session to go over your results and answer your questions (scheduled within one month of our your intake)

    -Email support for two weeks after your second follow up session

    -Worksheets, exercises, and remedies for at-home practice and lasting lifestyle changes

Frequently Asked Questions about Yoga Therapy

  • Yoga Therapy and regular yoga classes, while they have some overlap, are considered different and distinguished fields of study.

    Yoga Therapists have specialized expertise and training to create daily Yoga routines and lifestyle changes for individuals to overcome many types of obstacles such as emotional trauma, physical injuries, chronic conditions.

  • Your sessions and your home practice will be tailored to you. Because of my vast background and experience in this field, the tools and practices that come forward in my sessions are varied, unique, and extremely personalized.

    Tools and practices may include

    asana (placing the physical body in positions that cultivate awareness, relaxation, and concentration or mindfulness)

    pranayama (breathwork)

    dhyana (meditation)

    education/reflection on Yoga Philosophy/scriptures

    journaling

    svadhyaya (self-inquiry)

    mantra (sound)

    dinacharya (daily self-care routine as informed by Ayurveda)

    lifestyle changes and “life hacks”

  • The biggest differences between Yoga Therapy and Physical Therapy (PT) is the emphasis on breathing, concentration or "mindfulness," sequencing. and spirituality. These all play a vital role in healing.

    Additionally, Yoga Therapy offers a holistic approach to healing. I sometimes work with people who are just getting out of PT, but who aren't comfortable or strong enough physically to transition into their normal routines right away. PT doesn’t typically address the psychological, mental, and emotional aspects of injuries. Yoga Therapists can prevent injury, treat chronic pain, and offer rehab after acute pain. I cannot work with you in acute pain or diagnose.

  • Yoga Therapy is recognized as its own distinct profession despite having similar skills and training to other allied health and therapeutic and clinical professions. For example, the role of spirituality, the breath, connection to oneself, and a holistic view of the person make Yoga Therapy a unique discipline.

  • There is no need to worry if you don’t consider yourself flexible, have never taken a Yoga class, or don’t have familiarity with Yoga. Each session is completely tailored to your physical capacity and ability, personal intentions, and health goals. I’ve been working in this capacity with people for a over decade and have worked with a wide range of ability levels and types of people. You are in good hands (:

  • Your experience will be personalized through a comprehensive assessment in which we identify what you’re looking for; I’ll create a specific plan based on your goals. Next, I’ll recommend the next steps for you in simple, understandable terms so that you can feel sustained relief. You’ll receive a home Yoga practice adapted to suit your individual needs and based on what you feel you’re able to commit to.

    Depending on the package you purchase, I’ll either create the plan for you after our intake and assessment (The Gold Experience) or you’ll take your own notes (The Classic Experience).

  • A deep dive into yourself via your roller skates!

    -Journaling and reflection prompts on the days/weeks leading up to your session

    -If requested: a holistic assessment and goal charting of physical aptitude and skate experience (bring your own notebook for this)
